Not everything that is shiny is silk!

The term SILK, or Persian is used so loosely when it comes to rugs!

Many times I have seen rugs posted as Persian silk rug! Not only they’re not made of silk, nor are they Persian!

Oh, another nice term is vintage! A Persian rug is considered vintage when it’s about 50 years old and it is considered antique when it’s about a century old. A ten or twenty year old rug is just a used rug!

Always try your local dealer if you’re looking for something of value. The local dealer who has a physical store and has been trading for quite some time, wouldn’t try to rip you off. He counts on repeat business and word of mouth. Other words he has something to loose if he misinformed you.

Another favour I ask of you is, please don’t go to the shop and make the guy work hard to show you rugs and tell you all about it and then take picture and leave to buy something on the internet! That is just plain mean and quite frankly rude!!!

Without exception every single customer that has done so has never come back and those people make you work really hard.

As a dealer I can not afford to judge people and I have to provide service to everyone! But the minute the phone comes out and they say “ do you mind me taking a photo and go home and check it against my furniture?” , I know they will not be back! So many times I just want to ask them how would you know from that little phone of yours if the rug matches your living room?

I guess I ranted a little ? and got off topic didn’t I?

God bless us all and keep safe
